Hello and welcome to the Post 642 Adjutants Page:
Updating Personal Info in MyLegion.org
With the start of 2026, this is a great opportunity for members to check out their personal data on mylegion.org to ensure all the information is up to date. It’s quick and easy, go to mylegion.org if you already have a login then click on the icon and once you are logged in, click on my account. This will take you to your my account page. On the left is where the various sections of your account information are stored. Click on each of those sections, review the info, and make any additions, changes as required. Once this is saved it will be uploaded into the Legion database. While you are there you can subscribe to various email newsletters and dispatches to receive the latest Legion happenings. Those who do not yet have an account, once you are on the mylegion.org page click on the register icon and follow the instructions to register. Once you have registered, then follow the instructions above for account holders. I will be sending out hard copies of legion members’ info for those who have not yet provided their email addresses or do not have email.
ADJUTANT'S UPDATE
Greetings Legionnaires,
I hope you all had a great Independence Day celebrating the 250th anniversary of signing of the Declaration of Independence and the start of what would be come the United States of America. We had some friends over and instead of a BBQ my wife made some paella. We all had a great time and were able to catch a few of the fireworks from Cupertino’s fireworks later that evening.
We had our annual Post Picnic last Saturday at the Stevens Creek County Park. The weather was perfect and the 26+ attendees enjoyed great food, good company and it was nice to see several members that usually don’t attend meetings join us at the picnic. This year we decided to hold the event for free and asked that members bring friends and family to the event. We plan on doing the same for our Christmas/Holiday Dinner so that more folks attend and get a chance to meet other members and we can enjoy their company. I would like to thank Bill Reichard and George Midwin for taking charge of the event, purchasing food/supplies, setting up the venue and cooking. Also kudos to Bob Devlins daughters for helping with the cooking too! Here is the link on our Post Website with the pictures from the picnic.
As I mentioned last month the 2026 Boys/Girls State event was held in late June and I was able to get feedback to include photos from three of our attendees. The link to the Boys/Girls State tab on our website is here. Their testimonials and photos can be found farther down the page. I’m sure that when you see the photos and realize that they had a great time learning about Government, spending time with other HS juniors, that our Post sponsoring them is a worthwhile cause and one that we can be proud of!
Finally on the financial side of the house, I should note that I closed out the books for the 2025-26 Legion Year and have forwarded the 2026-27 Budget to the Executive Committee for them to review and get their input as to what Veteran and Community related charities we should be supporting this coming year. We will be reviewing the budget at our September meeting. Please attend if possible so you can provide input as to how we spend our monies as a Post.
A reminder that we WILL NOT have an August 2026 Monthly meeting, as many members will be out of town. Our next meeting will be held on Monday 14 September as 7 September is Labor Day.
