Wreaths Across America
Post 642 for the past 10 years has sponsored the Cupertino Wreaths Across America Ceremony with the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. This ceremony is to Remember and Honor our veterans by laying Remembrance wreaths on the graves of our country's fallen heroes. This event is a community event as we have numerous Scout Troops, the Rotary and citizen volunteers who prepare the wreaths, the grave sites and lay the wreaths on the day of the ceremony.
Please help us honor and remember as many fallen heroes as possible by sponsoring remembrance wreaths, volunteering on Wreaths Day, or inviting your family and friends to attend with you. The wreaths that are placed on the grave markers will remain on the Veteran graves through Christmas and New Years Day.
Last year we were fortunate enough to have received contributions that provided over 1100 wreath. All proceeds from the sales of the wreaths goes to Veterans and Veteran groups, scholarships, financial assistance to De Anza College Student Veterans, Scholarships for High School Seniors, the Fisher House and the Defenders Lodge at the Palo Alto VA, the Yountville Veterans Home and other local veteran groups.

Here is a recap of the National Wreaths Across America 2025 Campaign:
- Over 3.1 million sponsored veterans' wreaths were placed on headstones of our nation's service members at 5,598 participating locations.
- Millions of volunteers helped place wreaths, a third of whom were children.
- This was accomplished with the support of 7,778 sponsorship groups, corporate contributions, and in-kind donations from the transportation industry across the country.
- Over 700 truckloads of wreaths were delivered across the country by hundreds of volunteer professional truck drivers driving donated equipment and fuel from approximately 476 carriers.
